For me textiles are the ideal blend of art and functionality, ubiquitous across cultures and time. I believe that craftsmanship, high quality materials, and preservation of artisanal knowledge make for timeless design.
I grew up outside of Atlanta, Georgia and was always fascinated with making things by hand. In college, while deciding between majors of painting or sculpture, I found myself in a room full of wooden floor looms and was smitten.
After graduating in 2013 from the University of Georgia with a BFA in Fabric Design, I worked for Sina Pearson Textiles in NYC to design contract fabrics for public spaces. I'm currently working on my MFA thesis at Rhode Island School of Design and will graduate in June 2018.
